About the Program

Programming for treatment groups include outlines to help you look at your own triggers and patterns with support and guidance. Treatment includes important information on how thoughts and expectations shape emotions, including those with depression anxiety and anger issues – among other mental health problems. Cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, relaxation, stress management, conflict management, assertiveness training, role play, and education about neuro-biology and medication are a few examples of offered topics during the process of treatment. Much of the programming is done live and in person, but use of custom DVDs with specially qualified experts is also used for education and discussion.

Professional Counseling Center’s Director holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and is a licensed practitioner for both drug and alcohol treatment as well as psychological therapy. Reflecting her dual interest in personal health, our program has a distinct mental health involvement through the psychological team. Our practitioners include multiple doctoral level therapists, licensed mental health providers, and doctoral level students in training. Professional Counseling Center has licensed alcohol and drug counselors with a great deal of experience evaluating substance abuse and dependence, as well as treating these disorders. Combining these practices, our clinicians and counselors work together on a daily basis to provide comprehensive care.

Treatment programming is available at all locations. All locations have English dual-diagnosis programming. Daytime chemical dependency treatment is available at the Delano and St. Louis Park locations, and all three locations offer evening programming.
